To Start

CH 8. Without twisting, join with SL ST into first CH to form a circle.

You’ll be working in rounds. Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of the round to help keep your place.

Round 1:

CH 1. 12 SC into center of ring. Join with SL ST into first SC. (12)

Round 2

CH 2. 2 DC into same ST and each ST around. Join with SL ST into first DC. (24)

Round 3

CH 1. HDC in BLO into same ST and each ST around. Join with SL ST into first HDC. (24)

Round 4

CH 2. DC into same ST and each ST around. Join with SL ST into first DC. (24)

Round 5-7

CH 4. *SK ST, DC, CH 1*; repeat * around. Join with SL ST into 3rd CH.

When building on the mesh: you’ll always SK over the CH SP and DC into the DC from the previous round.

Round 8

CH 2. DC into same ST, DC into CH SP. *DC into next ST, DC into CH SP*; repeat * around. Join with SL ST into first DC. (24)

Round 9 (no button option)

CH 1. HDC into same ST, and in next 5 ST. CH 6, rejoin with SL ST into top of HDC. HDC into next 12 ST. CH 20, rejoin with SL ST into top of HDC. HDC into remaining 6 stitches of round. Join with SL ST into first HDC.

Optional Button Closure

Add length to the closing chain and add a button or toggle to give yourself an extra loop to attach to a leash or handle while walking.

Round 9 – Optional Button Closure

CH 1. HDC into same ST, and in next 5 ST. CH 6, rejoin with SL ST into top of HDC. HDC into next 12 ST. CH 30, rejoin with SL ST into top of HDC. HDC into remaining 6 stitches of round. Join with SL ST into first HDC.

To Finish

Fasten off and weave in ends.

If attaching a button: using a few strands of embroidery thread or 4 strands of machine thread held together, sew your chosen button or toggle onto the bag just below the long chain loop.

Congrats, and enjoy your next outdoor adventure!

Recommended Use

Place poo bag roll in bag. Use chain loops to secure closed. Follow yarn manufacturer’s instructions for washing.
